*Slylock Fox has been the star of a King Features Sunday comics feature for over 35 years!

*Bewitched aired 8 seasons (1964-1972) on ABC.

*The Flintstones episode we discuss is "Samantha" from the series' sixth season.

*Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus" was a #1 hit in 1985.

*Def Leppard's Rocket peaked at #12 on the US pop chart in 1997. It was 

*The Untouchables episode we mention is "The Rusty Heller Story," which premiered October 13, 1960 to kick off the series' second season. TV Guide ranked it 99 in its 1997 version of the 100 greatest episodes of all time.

*Tabitha lasted a half-season in 1977.

*Robert Montgomery's wife (and the mother of Elizabeth) is Elizabeth Bryan Allen, a stage actress who died in 1992--sadly, only several years before her daughter died way too young in 1995.

*The 2005 film The Weather Man was directed by Gore Verbinski and co-starred Michael Caine and Hope Davis.

*Mike won the game after clue number 6.

*Our subject started on network TV hosting NBC pregame coverage of the NFL.

*Public Eye won a Peabody but only lasted one season (1997-98) on CBS.

*Black Sports lasted 1971-1978, with our subject's stint as editor lasting for about a year in the early part of the run.

*Mama's Family, the Vicki Lawrence sitcom that sprung from the sketches on The Carol Burnett Show, ran 6 seasons, two on NBC and 4 in first-run syndication.

*One in a Million is streaming on Crackle. 

*Shout out to Genius Award winner Jeffrey Scott! He won the honor at our Season 8 Battys.

*As of this writing, Facts of Life is no longer streaming on a major service (that we know of) despite past stints on Crackle, Roku Channel, and Pluto TV.

*The Facebook group we mention is right here. It's very easy to join!

*Congratulations again to...ME! Yes, congrats to Mike and me for the new developments in/additions to our families. Sky point to the late great Merle!

*Night Court is streaming on IMDB-TV, free with ads.

*Our Fame Game figure was born June 28, 1946.

*NBC's Animalympics was conceived as two hourlong TV specials taking off on the Olympics, but after the Olympic boycott, the network canceled the Summer version. The Winter special aired February 1, 1980, and the full-length movie version combining the two received home video and pay cable distribution.

*First Family co-starred Bob Newhart and Madeline Khan as the First Couple. The 1980 Buck Henry joint was panned.

*Gilda Radner Live on Broadway ran August-September 1979. Mike Nichols' filmed adaptation, Gilda Live, had a short box office run in early 1980.

*Radner won her Emmy in 1978 for Outstanding Continuing or Single Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Variety or Music Program, beating Dolly Parton for a Cher special, Bea Arthur for the short-lived Laugh-In revival, Bernadette Peters for The Muppet Show, and castmate Jane Curtin from SNL.

Show Notes: Fame Game #6

*Our Fame Game subject this week, Merv Griffin (1925-2007) was born in San Mateo, California, and lived most his life in the Golden State.

*Before we get a stream of letters, we do not actually have a surplus of Turtle Wax to give away.

*Play Your Hunch lasted 1958-1963, with Gene Rayburn and Robert Q.Lewis succeeding Griffin after he started his daytime talk show. The game show was on all 3 broadcast networks.

*Merv hosted a daytime chat show on NBC (1962-63) before starting his famous syndicated show, which aired in various time slots around the country.

*Griffin took a shot at opposing Johnny Carson with a late-night show in 1969, but he left that unsuccessful program to launch another syndicated show in 1972, and that version lasted till he retired in 1986.

*Joan Rivers was actually 8 years old when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and was thus ineligible for military service during World War II.

*Arnold Schwarzenegger's first appearance on Griffin's show was in 1974. The actor attended Merv's funeral in 2007.

*Dance Fever aired weekly in first-run syndication from 1979 to 1987.

*Our Famer was born July 24, 1936.

*Granny Goodwitch was in Sugar Crisps cereal ads and on Linus the Lionhearted.

*The Pound Puppies cartoon, based on the toy line by Tonka, aired as a special in October 1985, then as a regular series on ABC 1986-1989.  A 2010 revival on Hub lasted several more seasons.

*Paw Paws is a syndicated 1985-1986 Hanna Barbera series.

*Henry's wife Chloe appeared on only one episode of Alice: Season 5's Henry's Bitter Half.

*Our Famer did NOT kill the rest of the participants in the Dean Martin Roast of Frank Sinatra.

*One role we did not mention but that we have discussed on the podcast: Aunt Minerva from Legends of the Superheroes: The Roast.

*The Love Boat episode with our Famer as herself is one of the post-main-run movies, 1987's Who Killed Maxwell Thorn? in which she appears along with other BOTNS faves like Alan Thicke, Bert Convy, The Bos, Charo, Gordon Jump...the list goes on and on. Robert Reed and Florence Henderson play Mike and Carol Brady!

Show Notes: Fame Game #3

Remember, if you want to play along as Mike tries to deduce the identity of the subject in this installment of the Fame Game, please do NOT read this or check out our YouTube playlist until after hearing this week's mini episode!

We hope that Bobby will be back next time in his customary spot leading the Battle of the Network Shows orchestra, but we couldn't deprive him of a lucrative gig in Tahoe.

Just a few notes for this bonus episode:

*Our subject this week is Daphne Blake, whose most prominent voice was the actress Heather North. According to Mark Evanier, she is based on Thalia from The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, and the other teens are inspired by others from that series.

*Daphne co-starred with Don Adams in The Exterminator from the second season of The New Scooby-Doo Movies; Phyllis Diller in A Good Medium is Rare from the first season (I like that title) , and Sonny and Cher in The Secret of Shark Island, also in the first season.

*Fred's last name is Jones; Shaggy's is Rogers; Velma's is Dinkley.
