This Day (and a week or so) in TV History: December 1978 brings...Stubby

Merry Christmas to all of our listeners! Today let's return to that vintage TV Guide we've been mining this week for a look at a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie that premiered on Sunday, December 17, 1978. It features one of the greatest names in Christmas movie history:

Beau Bridges IS Stubby Pringle! I love it. What a supporting cast, too: Julie Harris, Strother Martin, Edward Binns, Chill Wills, and Kim Hunter.

The movie is based on a 1964 story by Jack Schaefer that was published in Reader's Digest
