Where were you 35 years ago today?

If you were watching NBC on the night of February 3, 1982, you may have seen "Starstruck," one of the Facts of Life episodes we discussed in our season 1. This is memorable, of course, for the Special Guest Appearance by Jermaine Jackson and the Batty-award-winning performances of Kim Fields and Charlotte Rae.

I have some memories of that night. It was past my bedtime, but I insisted I stay up and watch the episode. When everyone else protested that I was allowed to do that, the answer was, "I didn't know what else to do."

"He was hysterical. Oh, he was gonna watch that episode if he had to jump out of the window and run all the way to the city...to find a store that had a set on display that happened to be showing it."

What were you doing on that memorable night in 1982? Were you crashing a superstar's (or his brother's) dressing room to give him a gift?

  1. Working on a papier-mâché Robert Pine head.

Wait that's what I'm doing this year.

    1. You should totally present it to him in person...if you can get through his entourage.
