Jean Shepherd's America was a 1971 PBS program, and, hey, it is readily available on YouTube, so I think I am going to have to check it out.

Kudos to channel 27 for showing The Honeymooners, but I wish I knew which episode it was. I mean, they're all great...but still!

ReplyDeleteI really like how this post turns an old TV Guide into the basis for an actual game. The August 26, 1977 listings are full of little clues, and I can see why they would make the TV Guide Game more interesting than simply looking through an old schedule. The mix of PBS, CBS, NBC, and ABC programming gives the listings a lot of variety. I especially liked the mention of The Honeymooners on channel 27, because not knowing the exact episode almost makes it another mystery to solve. The later-night reruns of Perry Mason, Mod Squad, and Name of the Game are also fun details that show how much variety viewers had. While browsing around afterward, I happened to come across FF Beta Download.
